MAXWELL SAYS RENFREWSHIRE CANNOT MISS OUT ON SHARE OF SAFER STREETS FUNDING

Stewart Maxwell, MSP for the West of Scotland has called on Renfrewshire Council to make sure that towns and villages such as Paisley, Johnstone, Lochwinnoch, Elderslie and Linwood do not miss out on its share of £400,000 being made available by the Scottish Government to improve public safety.

BBC SIX O’CLOCK NEWS SHUNS SCOTLAND

The BBC has failed to improve coverage of Scottish issues on its flagship news bulletin.

Despite a recent BBC Trust report showing coverage of devolved issues and recognition of devolved issues by reporters had improved since 2007 an analysis of all Six O’Clock news bulletins on BBC 1 on weeknights in June for SNP MSP Stewart Maxwell shows that only 4 stories covered issues in Scotland – or 2% of all stories in that month.

MAXWELL HAILS SNP COUNCIL TAX FREEZE SAVINGS FOR EAST RENFREWSHIRE RESIDENTS

Stewart Maxwell, MSP for the West of Scotland, has today highlighted the savings that householders have made since the SNP came to power and froze council tax. The average Band D home in East Renfrewshire has saved £237 since 2007/8 thanks to the council tax freeze.

MAXWELL URGES CONSTITUENTS TO DONATE UNWANTED CLOTHING TO CHARITY

West of Scotland MSP Stewart Maxwell has urged people to donate any unwanted clothing or textiles they have to local charities in the area.

Paying a visit to the Mary’s Meals charity shop in Barrhead Main Street, Stewart Maxwell dropped off a batch of old clothing which the charity is able to re-use or recycle to raise funds.
